Target Information

The gene product is preferentially expressed in hematopoietic cells and belongs to the paxillin protein family. It contains four leucine-rich LD motifs at the N-terminus and four LIM domains at the C-terminus. This protein may function in cell type-specific signaling through association with PYK2, a focal adhesion kinase family member. It acts as a substrate for tyrosine kinase in lymphoid cells and may be regulated by tyrosine kinase activity. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms are produced by alternative splicing.
