Target Information
Caspase 9 (ICE-like apoptotic protease 6, ICE LAP6, apoptotic protease Mch6, Apaf3)는 peptidase family C14에 속하며 CARD 도메인을 포함합니다.
Caspases는 apoptosis를 매개하는 cysteine protease로, 비활성 전구체 형태로 발현되어 특정 기질의 절단을 통해 활성화됩니다.
활성화된 Caspase 9는 heterotetramer 형태로 존재하며, 세포질에서 미토콘드리아로 이동합니다.
Caspase 9는 Caspase 3 및 Caspase 6의 절단 및 활성화를 유도하며, Apaf-1과 결합하여 apoptosis를 촉진합니다.
또한 DNA 손상 유도성 apoptosis에 관여하고, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP)를 절단합니다.
Caspase 9는 다양한 인체 조직에서 발현되며, 결핍 시 뇌 발달 이상 및 신경 발달 장애가 보고되었습니다.
낮은 Caspase 9 발현은 암 및 알츠하이머병과 같은 신경퇴행성 질환에 연관될 수 있습니다.
