RGS14는 G-단백질 신호 조절 인자(RGS) 패밀리에 속하며, 하나의 RGS 도메인, 두 개의 Raf-like Ras-binding 도메인(RBD), 하나의 GoLoco 도메인을 포함합니다.
이 단백질은 GTP 결합 Gα 소단위체에 결합하여 GTP를 GDP로 전환시키는 GTPase 활성화 단백질(GAP)로 작용하며, 신호 전달을 종료시킵니다.
또한 미세소관 중합 및 방추체 형성을 조절하고, 세포 분열, NGF 매개 신경돌기 성장, 스트레스 저항성, 시각 기억 및 해마 기반 학습에 관여합니다.
