Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes belong to two distinct subclasses, one utilizing NAD(+) and the other NADP(+). Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported: three NAD(+)-dependent forms in the mitochondrial matrix and two NADP(+)-dependent forms, one mitochondrial and one cytosolic.
The cytosolic NADP(+)-dependent isozyme encoded by this gene is found in the cytoplasm and peroxisomes, containing a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal. This enzyme contributes to NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody product is specific for IDH1 (mutant R132H).
