Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes are divided into NAD(+)-dependent and NADP(+)-dependent subclasses. Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been identified: three NAD(+)-dependent mitochondrial forms and two NADP(+)-dependent forms (one mitochondrial, one cytosolic).
The IDH1 enzyme is the NADP(+)-dependent cytoplasmic and peroxisomal isoform, containing a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting sequence. It is involved in NADPH regeneration for peroxisomal reduction reactions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody specifically recognizes IDH1 (mutant R132H).
