Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and is located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins. It forms a heterodimer with other NF-kB subunits such as p50 or p52. Upon TNF alpha stimulation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and allowing NF-kB translocation to the nucleus. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in the transcription of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
