Product Specific Information

• Source: Monoclonal antibody obtained by fusing mouse myeloma cell-line P3-X63-Ag8-U1 with spleen cells of BALB/c mouse immunized with bovine bone osteonectin (SPARC). Harvested from ascitic fluid.
• Specificity:
  • Reacts with bone-derived and platelet-derived Osteonectin (ELISA).
  • Does not react with non-activated platelets; reacts with thrombin-stimulated platelets (flow cytometric analysis).
  • Reacts with human and bovine Osteonectin (Western blot).
  • Cross-reacts with rabbit and porcine Osteonectin (ELISA).
• Storage:
  • Store at 4°C. No preservative.
  • Stock solution (2.0 mg/mL) can be stored at -20°C for 1 year, or at 4°C for 6 months with 0.1% sodium azide.
  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
• Reconstitution:
  • Dissolve lyophilized antibody in 50 µL distilled water (final concentration: 2.0 mg/mL).
  • Dilute with appropriate solution just prior to use.
  • For short-term use, dissolve directly in ≥500 µL dilution solution.
  • Maintain antibody concentration ≥2.0 mg/mL for stability.
  • Add 0.1% sodium azide when storing reconstituted antibody at 4°C.

Target Information

SPARC gene encodes a cysteine-rich acidic matrix-associated protein required for collagen calcification in bone. It is involved in extracellular matrix synthesis and cell shape modulation. The gene product is associated with both tumor suppression and metastasis, depending on cellular context. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
