PA1-30182 has been tested for its ability to neutralize the biological activity of EPO on the human cell line, TF1.

Target Information
Erythropoietin (EPO) is a growth factor essential for the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of erythroid precursors. It induces final maturation of partially differentiated erythroid cells and production of red cell-specific proteins such as hemoglobin.
The EPO receptor (EPOR) is highly expressed on precursor cells and decreases with maturation. Hepatocytes are the main source of EPO in the fetus, while interstitial kidney cells become the major source after birth.
EPO expression increases under hypoxic conditions and may play a role in neuronal tissue protection and repair.
