Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The CD204 gene encodes class A macrophage scavenger receptors, including three isoforms (types 1, 2, and 3) generated by alternative splicing. These macrophage-specific trimeric integral membrane glycoproteins are implicated in physiological and pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.
- Isoforms 1 and 2 mediate endocytosis of modified LDLs.
- Isoform 3 does not internalize modified LDL due to altered intracellular processing and is retained in the endoplasmic reticulum.
- Isoform 3 can inhibit the function of isoforms 1 and 2, suggesting a regulatory mechanism for scavenger receptor activity in macrophages.
Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
