This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CTPS2.
Target Information
The CTPS2 protein catalyzes the formation of CTP from UTP with the concomitant deamination of glutamine to glutamate. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of cytosine nucleotides, which are essential for RNA and DNA synthesis. Elevated CTPS2 activity is associated with increased cell proliferation in cancer cells, making it a potential target for selective chemotherapy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
