Target Information
Gas2 is a 313 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene GAS2. It is involved in apoptosis as a substrate for caspases and plays a role in actin cytoskeleton rearrangement during cell death. Gas2 is a cytoskeleton and peripheral membrane protein co-localizing with actin fibers, mainly membrane-associated but relocates to ruffles when hyperphosphorylated. Expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels in liver, lung, and kidney.
