Target Information
Ephrin receptors and their ligands (ephrins) mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system.
Ephrins are divided into two classes: ephrin-A (EFNA), which are GPI-anchored, and ephrin-B (EFNB), which are transmembrane proteins.
The Eph receptor family is the largest subgroup of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), divided based on extracellular domain similarity and ligand affinity.
The EphB6 receptor lacks kinase activity but binds ephrin-B ligands.
