Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins form one of the four subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex (SCF), which functions in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. They are categorized into three classes:
- Fbws containing WD-40 domains
- Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs containing various other interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The encoded protein belongs to the Fbls class. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
