Target Information
Adgrb1 (also known as BAI1) is a phosphatidylserine receptor involved in the engulfment of apoptotic cells and acts as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis in the brain. It may function as a mediator of p53 signaling in glioblastoma suppression, contributing to cell adhesion and signal transduction in neural tissues.
Angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation, is tightly regulated by a balance between stimulators and inhibitors. In tumors, this balance shifts toward angiogenesis promotion, supporting tumor growth and metastasis. Adgrb1 expression is induced by wild-type p53 and may act as a growth suppressor of glioblastomas. It belongs to the secretin receptor family and is associated with diseases such as glioblastoma.
