Product Specific Information
The OKT3 monoclonal antibody binds to an epitope on the epsilon-subunit of the human CD3 complex. It has potent immunosuppressive properties and has been used in treatment of organ transplant rejection. CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon) are essential for TCR complex assembly and expression. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and all mature T cells.

- Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometry using human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL/test (0.5 µg/test).
- Recommended cell count: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Light Sensitivity
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light during storage and staining.
Fixation
Samples may be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

- 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333-54)
Brilliant Violet™ 605 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information
The CD3 complex transduces antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulates TCR surface expression. CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta) are immunoglobulin superfamily members encoded on chromosome 11. CD3 is expressed on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes and 65–85% of thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
