Target Information
P2Y1 is a purinergic receptor that induces platelet shape change and aggregation by binding ADP, leading to mobilization of intracellular calcium via activation of phospholipase C.

P2Y1 is expressed in various tissues, especially in the brain. ESTs have been isolated from human embryo, lung, and placenta libraries.
