Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC. MET plays a crucial role in embryonic development such as gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, and kidney formation. In adults, it contributes to wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling. Dysregulation of MET is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast cancer, making it a target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
