SMAD 단백질은 transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) 수용체 신호전달 경로의 핵심 구성요소로, serine/threonine kinase 수용체에 의해 매개되는 세포 내 신호 전달에 필수적입니다.

- R-SMADs (Receptor-regulated SMADs): SMAD1, SMAD2, SMAD5, SMAD8, SMAD9
