Target Information
GOLPH1 (also known as GCP60) is a Golgi-associated protein that interacts with the integral membrane protein giantin and is involved in maintaining Golgi structure. It also interacts with Golgin-160, which can be cleaved by caspases-2, -3, and -7, leading to nuclear localization of Golgin-160 fragments. The interaction strength depends on the oxidation state of Cys-463 within GOLPH1, suggesting a coordinated regulation of Golgi and nuclear processes. GOLPH1 also interacts with Numb, a cytosolic signaling protein involved in asymmetric cell division, indicating a potential link between Golgi dynamics, cell cycle progression, and cell fate determination.
