Background
보체(Complement)는 선천면역의 핵심 요소로, 병원체 침입 시 가장 먼저 활성화되는 방어 체계입니다.
C3는 보체 경로의 중심 단백질로, 고전적 경로(classical), 대체 경로(alternative), 렉틴 경로(mannose-binding lectin pathway) 모두에서 공통적으로 작용합니다.
C3는 C3 convertase에 의해 C3a와 C3b로 절단되며, C3a는 강력한 아나필락시톡신(anaphylatoxin)으로서 혈관 투과성 증가, 비만세포 탈과립, 염증 반응 및 백혈구 활성화를 유도합니다.
