Background
Mouse IL-10은 IL-10 사이토카인 패밀리의 대표 구성원으로, IL-19, IL-20, IL-22, IL-24, IL-26 등을 포함합니다. Epstein-Barr virus(EBV) 및 human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) 등 일부 바이러스도 IL-10 유사 단백질을 생성합니다.
IL-10은 활성화된 대식세포 및 보조 T세포에서 생성되는 IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-3, TNF, GM-CSF 등의 사이토카인 생성을 억제합니다.
사람과 생쥐의 IL-10은 81%의 서열 유사성을 가지지만, 생쥐 IL-10은 사람 세포에서는 작용하지 않으며, 반대로 인간 IL-10은 생쥐 세포에서 활성화됩니다.
