배경 정보
Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF)는 림프계 인자로서, 배아줄기세포의 자가유지를 촉진하고 자발적 분화를 억제합니다. 또한 콜린성 뉴런 분화, 줄기세포 다능성 조절, 골 및 지방 대사, 특정 세포주의 유사분열 조절, 거핵세포 생성 촉진 등 다양한 생리적 기능을 수행합니다. 인간과 생쥐 LIF는 아미노산 수준에서 약 78%의 서열 동일성을 가지며, 인간 LIF는 인간 및 생쥐 세포 모두에서 활성적입니다. 반면, 생쥐 LIF는 인간 세포에서 약 1000배 낮은 활성을 보입니다.
