Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
GAMT (Guanidinoacetate N-methyltransferase) is a methyltransferase that converts guanidoacetate to creatine using S-adenosylmethionine as the methyl donor. Defects in the GAMT gene are associated with neurological syndromes and muscular hypotonia, likely due to creatine deficiency and accumulation of guanidinoacetate in the brain. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
