Product Specific Information
In Western blots, this antibody reacts with full-length Kininogen (aa 21–661) and several forms of the light chain starting at residue 389. It does not react with the heavy chain. No cross-reactivity is observed with recombinant mouse (rm) Cystatin A, B, C, E/M, recombinant human (rh) Cystatin D, F, S, SA, SN, rmCystatin/Stefin Homolog, rmFetuin A, rhFetuin B, rmHPRG, rhKininogen, or rhKininostatin.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This gene uses alternative splicing to generate two different proteins: high molecular weight kininogen (HMWK) and low molecular weight kininogen (LMWK).
- HMWK is essential for blood coagulation and assembly of the kallikrein-kinin system.
- Bradykinin, a peptide causing numerous physiological effects, is released from HMWK.
- LMWK is not involved in blood coagulation.
Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
