Product Specific Information
- Methanol fixation is required for immunofluorescence and flow cytometry staining.
- To decrease nonspecific staining for both applications, use a Biotin/Streptavidin blocker.
- By WB, MA5-11355 detects a predominant band between 30–35 kDa and faint nonspecific bands at ~72 kDa and 130 kDa.
Target Information
PCNA (polymerase delta auxiliary protein) is essential for DNA replication and involved in DNA excision and mismatch repair pathways.
It binds to CDK inhibitor p21, endonucleases Fen1 and XPG, and DNA cytosine 5-methyltransferase (MCMT).
PCNA serves as a marker for proliferative cells and tumor prognosis, expressed in early G1 and S phases, localized in the nucleus as a homotrimer.
Upon DNA damage, PCNA is ubiquitinated and participates in RAD6-dependent repair.
Two transcript variants encode the same protein, and pseudogenes are found on chromosome 4 and X.
