이 패밀리의 구성원들은 propeptide region, metalloproteinase domain, disintegrin-like domain, thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif 등을 포함한 여러 가지 공통적인 단백질 모듈을 공유합니다.
각 멤버는 C-말단 TS 모티프의 수와 고유한 C-말단 도메인에서 차이를 보입니다.
ADAMTS13 효소는 von Willebrand Factor (vWF)-cleaving protease로서, vWF 분자의 Tyr842-Met843 부위를 절단하는 역할을 합니다.
