Description:
The monoclonal antibody 1B2hsp70 recognizes HSP70 (heat shock protein 70). HSPs are highly conserved molecular chaperones that stabilize or assist in folding of new or denatured proteins following stress. Expression of HSPs can be constitutive or inducible depending on cell type and environmental conditions. Upregulation of HSPs is observed in cancer, ischemic injury, inflammatory, and demyelinating diseases.
This antibody recognizes HSP70 family member 1A located in the cytoplasm and nucleus of many cell types. Due to high conservation, clone 1B2hsp70 is expected to recognize canine and monkey HSP70 1A.

Applications Tested:
Tested by IHC on FFPE tissue using both low and high pH antigen retrieval at ≤5 µg/mL. Recommended to titrate for optimal performance.
Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Aggregation: Less than 10%, as determined by HPLC.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
HSP70 is a heat shock protein expressed in response to various stresses such as elevated temperature. Major HSP families include HSP70, HSP90, and HSP100. The HSP70 family consists of highly conserved proteins induced by diverse stresses in all studied organisms.
Human HSP70 family members include:
- HSP70: Strongly inducible but also constitutively expressed in primate cells
- HSP72: Induced exclusively under stress conditions
- HSC70: Constitutively expressed, involved in clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating
- GRP78 (BiP): ER-localized, glucose-regulated 78 kDa protein
- p75 (HSP75): Mitochondrial protein
HSP70 is encoded by an intronless gene within the MHC class III region, clustered with two related genes. It stabilizes proteins against aggregation, assists folding of new proteins, and participates in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway via interaction with AU-rich element RNA-binding protein 1.
