Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
NPM1 (Nucleophosmin 1, also known as B23, nutramin, NO38) is a ubiquitously expressed phosphoprotein involved in ribosome assembly and transport, cytoplasmic/nuclear trafficking, regulation of DNA polymerase alpha activity, centrosome duplication, and p53 regulation.
It shuttles between the nucleus, cytoplasm, and nucleolus, chaperoning core histones and preventing protein aggregation.
NPM1 interacts with tumor-associated chromosome translocations, forming fusion proteins such as NPM-ALK, NPM-RAR, and NPM-MLF1, which may contribute to oncogenic processes.
Dysfunction of NPM1 is associated with diseases such as acute myeloid leukemia and lymphomatoid papulosis.
