Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight from approximately 40 kDa to 68 kDa and have isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8.
Each cytokeratin subtype is characteristic of specific epithelial types and their differentiation states. Cytokeratin antibody panels are widely used in distinguishing epithelial malignancies through immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
