Target Information
PSD-93, also known as chapsyn-110, is a plasma membrane-associated protein found in synaptic junctions. It is uniquely expressed in Purkinje neuron cell bodies and dendrites. PSD-93 contains three PDZ domains, one SH3 domain, and a C-terminal guanylate kinase homology (GuK) domain that is enzymatically inactive. PDZ-domain interactions are believed to contribute to receptor and channel clustering, influencing neuronal plasticity. PSD-93 is involved in clustering NMDA receptors and shaker-type potassium channels at the synaptic membrane. Two main interaction modes exist: one involving C-terminal T/SXV motifs and another via PDZ–PDZ interactions, such as with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS).
