Target Information
MPP10 (M-phase phosphoprotein 10), also known as MPHOSPH10, is a 681 amino acid protein localized to the fibrillar region of the nucleolus. It is phosphorylated during the M phase of the cell cycle and forms part of the 60–80S U3 small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (U3 snoRNP) complex, essential for early cleavages in pre-18S ribosomal RNA processing.
MPP10 interacts with IMP-3 and IMP-4 to form a heterotrimeric complex required for nucleolar association. The MPP10 gene is located on human chromosome 2, which contains over 500 genes. Mutations in genes on this chromosome have been linked to disorders such as Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type 2, autism, and schizophrenia.
