Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and acts as a cellular mediator for herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. HSV glycoprotein D binds to TNFRSF14 as part of the viral entry mechanism. The cytoplasmic region of TNFRSF14 interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses. Activation in T cells enhances proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported, though not all are fully characterized.
