Target Information
SOX 유전자군은 포유류 성 결정 유전자 SRY와 관련된 유전자들로, HMG-box 도메인을 포함하여 DNA에 특이적으로 결합하는 전사 조절 기능을 수행합니다. SOX 유전자는 세포 운명 결정 및 다양한 발생 과정의 조절에 관여하며, 약 40개 이상의 다양한 동물 계통에서 빠르게 분화된 유전자 군을 형성합니다. 현재 약 30개의 SOX 유전자가 확인되었으며, 이들은 진화적으로 보존되어 동물 발생에 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 일부 SOX 유전자는 성전환 등의 인간 질환과도 관련되어 있습니다.
