Target Information
CTXL, a cortical thymocyte marker, belongs to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily and exhibits characteristics of both antigen-specific receptors and adhesion molecules. It is a single-pass, type I membrane protein containing a signal peptide, an extracellular V-type Ig-like domain, a C2-type Ig-like domain, and a cytoplasmic tail.
Expression is high in stomach, colon, prostate, trachea, and thyroid gland, with lower levels in bladder and lung tissues. CTXL is not expressed in the thymus. It is developmentally regulated and may participate in thymocyte selection. CTXL localizes to junctional complexes between endothelial and epithelial cells and may function in cell-cell adhesion and leukocyte transmigration.
