This antibody detects NBPF1, NBPF9, NBPF10, NBPF12, NBPF14, NBPF15, NBPF16, and NBPF20.
Target Information
The NBPF (Neuroblastoma Breakpoint Family) genes consist of dozens of recently duplicated genes primarily located on human chromosome 1. This family has expanded significantly in humans and to a lesser extent in primates. Members contain tandemly repeated DUF1220 protein domains. Variations in the 1q21.1 region, where DUF1220 domains are located, are associated with developmental and neurogenetic disorders such as microcephaly, macrocephaly, autism, schizophrenia, congenital heart disease, and neuroblastoma. Altered expression of NBPF genes has been linked to several cancers. This gene family also includes numerous pseudogenes.
