Target Information
Adenylate cyclase is a membrane-bound enzyme that catalyzes the formation of cyclic AMP from ATP. Its enzymatic activity is regulated by hormones, and multiple polypeptides mediate signal transduction from receptors to the catalytic domain. Stimulatory or inhibitory receptors (Rs and Ri) interact with G proteins (Gs and Gi) possessing GTPase activity, modulating the catalytic subunit of adenylyl cyclase.
