Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor family that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. This receptor binds neurotensin and several other ligands described for the neurotensin NT1 receptor. Unlike the NT1 receptor, it recognizes levocabastine, a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, with high affinity. These characteristics suggest physiological importance and the possible existence of a natural agonist for this receptor.
