Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
RAP80 is a zinc-finger containing nuclear protein highly expressed in testis and interacts with the retinoid-related testis-associated receptor (RTR). It is recruited by CCDC98 to BRCA1, enabling BRCA1 foci formation in response to DNA damage. RAP80 and CCDC98 are essential for DNA damage resistance, G2-M checkpoint control, and repair mechanisms. Depletion of either protein increases sensitivity to ionizing radiation, though less than BRCA1 depletion, suggesting partial involvement in BRCA1-mediated DNA damage response. At least four isoforms of RAP80 exist.
