This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the amino terminus of human MINA.
PEP-1023 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20909.
Target Information
MINA is a nuclear-localized, myc-inducible protein that plays a role in mammalian cell proliferation.
Treatment of cancer cell lines such as SW680 with siRNA against MINA inhibits cell growth, suggesting it may be a potential therapeutic target.
MINA regulates genes related to cell adhesion and metabolism, many of which are also regulated by c-Myc, as well as others not modulated by c-Myc such as EGFR, IL-6, and HGF.
It also acts as a repressor of IL-4 expression in T cells, indicating a role in T cell differentiation and genetic variation in T helper type 2 bias.
