Target Information
This gene is a member of the lipoma HMGIC fusion partner (LHFP) gene family, which belongs to the tetraspan transmembrane protein superfamily. It is fused to a high-mobility group gene in translocation-associated lipoma. Mutations in LHFP-like genes can cause deafness in humans and mice. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, though their full-length nature is unknown.
