Target Information
HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein forming the core of the AIDS virus HIV-1. It is produced by proteolytic cleavage of the precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. The p24 protein is essential for viral particle assembly and replication. It is detectable from the early stage of HIV infection and serves as a marker for monitoring viral load and disease progression.
