Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The HTR3A gene encodes subunit A of the type 3 receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a neurotransmitter, hormone, and mitogen. This receptor mediates fast, depolarizing responses in neurons upon activation. Functional receptor activity typically requires heteromeric assembly of A and B subunits, as individual subunits show low conductance and response amplitude. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
