Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다. Intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 주요 alkaline phosphatase 동형이 존재합니다. PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합형 isoenzyme(Regan 및 Nagao type)을 인식합니다.
이 항체는 testicular germ cell tumor 식별에 유용하며, PLAP-positive 체세포 종양은 일관되게 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 발현합니다. PLAP는 matrix mineralization에 관여하는 것으로 제안되었지만, 해당 효소가 결핍된 마우스에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰되었습니다. 또한 PLAP는 hypercalcemia와 골격 이상을 특징으로 하는 hypophosphatasia와 직접적으로 연관되어 있습니다. 이 질환의 표현형은 돌연변이의 종류에 따라 발병 시기와 증상의 정도가 달라질 수 있습니다.
