Target Information
Melanoma-associated antigen (MAGE) family proteins are silent in normal tissues except for male germ cells and placenta. These antigens are tumor-specific and expressed in various tumor cell types, making them valuable targets for antitumor immunotherapy. MAGE family genes encode tumor antigens recognized by cytolytic T lymphocytes in human melanoma. Although the precise function of MAGEH1 is not fully elucidated, it may play a role in embryonal development, tumor transformation, or tumor progression.
