Prior to immunostaining paraffin tissues, antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended.
Target Information
PINK1 (PTEN-induced putative kinase 1) protects cells from mitochondrial dysfunction by conferring autophosphorylation activity to mitochondrial genes. The kinase domain of PINK1 is critical for its protective effects. Mitochondrial proteins regulate cellular energy and stress adaptation, especially in brain cells where energy demand is high. Disruption of mitochondrial structure or function in the brain can lead to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.
