Target Information
Synapse-Associated Protein 102 (SAP102) is a plasma membrane-associated protein found in synaptic junctions. It contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a GuK domain.
SAP102 plays a role in receptor and channel clustering, contributing to neuronal plasticity. It interacts with NMDA receptors and shaker-type potassium channels at CNS synapses.
Other neuronal proteins sharing the T/SXV motif may bind SAP102 via PDZ domains. Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) also associates with SAP102 through PDZ-PDZ interaction.
