Target Information
Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase (PNK) Polyclonal Antibody recognizes polynucleotide kinase (PNK), a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair processes during replication and recombination or in response to DNA damage.
PNK targets DNA 5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation.
During strand breakage in human cells, PNK associates with nuclear proteins to prepare DNA termini for the enzymatic actions of DNA polymerase-beta and DNA ligase III.
PNK is a key component in maintaining the genetic stability of human cells.
