Anti-Glucoamylase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis. Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Goat Serum, and purified or partially purified Glucoamylase [Rhizopus]. Cross-reactivity with Glucoamylase from other sources is unknown.

Target Information

Rhizopus glucoamylase exists in multiple forms (Gluc 1, Gluc 2, Gluc 3), all hydrolyzing gelatinized starch at similar rates. Only Gluc 1 can adsorb raw starch. The enzyme hydrolyzes terminal (1→4)-linked α-D-glucose residues successively from non-reducing ends, releasing β-D-glucose.
