Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signaling in response to various growth factors. Overexpression of EGFR is associated with numerous cancers, making it a key target for both biological and small-molecule therapeutics.

EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene on human chromosome 7 and belongs to the HER/ERbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases, which includes ERbB2, ERbB3, and ERbB4. Upon ligand binding (e.g., EGF, TGF-α), EGFR dimerizes and undergoes autophosphorylation, activating downstream signaling pathways.

Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
