Human GSTs are divided into five classes: alpha, mu, pi, theta, and zeta.
The theta class includes GSTT1 and GSTT2, which share 55% amino acid sequence identity and play important roles in human carcinogenesis.
GSTT1 and GSTT2 genes are located approximately 50 kb apart and have similar exon/intron structures.
